Watamu & Malindi
A marine park of coral gardens, turtles and a mangrove creek.
About
Watamu's marine national park was one of the first in Africa, and the reef lies close enough to shore that the coral gardens are snorkelled from a boat ride away. Mida Creek's mangroves fill with waders at low tide, the Arabuko-Sokoke forest behind it is the largest coastal forest left in East Africa, and the Gede ruins sit under trees a few kilometres inland.
