Mount Mulanje
A granite massif rising out of the tea estates, walked hut to hut.
About
Mulanje stands three thousand metres above the plain in a mass of granite domes and plateaux, and the classic trip is a multi-day traverse staying in mountain huts, crossing streams and rock slabs with porters from the villages below. Sapitwa is the highest point in Central Africa, and the tea estates around the base make the approach as pleasant as the climb.
Highlights
- Hut-to-hut traverse
- Sapitwa Peak
- Waterfall pools on the plateaux
