About
Mount Kenya is the country's highest mountain and the second highest in Africa. Batian and Nelion need ropes, but Point Lenana at 4,985 metres is a trekking summit reached in three to five days through bamboo forest, giant groundsel moorland and finally scree in the dark. The Chogoria route up the eastern side is the most beautiful of the three.
