Mohéli
The quietest Comorian island, with a marine park, turtles and whales.
About
Mohéli is the smallest and least developed of the Comoros, and its marine park protects nesting beaches where green turtles come ashore most nights of the year, along with reefs, dugong habitat and humpback whales passing between July and October. Villages run much of the tourism themselves, in small guesthouses along the south coast.
Highlights
- Night turtle nesting at Itsamia
- Humpback whales in season
- Nioumachoua islets snorkelling
- Community guesthouses
