About
Meroë was the capital of the Kushite kingdom, and its royal cemeteries hold more pyramids than all of Egypt — smaller, far steeper, and set in dunes with almost no one around them. The site includes the ruined royal city, temples and reservoirs, and the sand shifts across the burial fields through the day.
