Mount Kilimanjaro
Africa's highest peak — and the highest mountain in the world you can walk up.
About
At 5,895 metres, Kilimanjaro is the tallest free-standing mountain on earth and the continent's highest point. No technical climbing is required on any of its main routes, which is why thousands attempt it each year, but altitude makes it genuinely hard. Climbers pass through five climate zones in under a week — farmland, rainforest, heath, alpine desert, and finally the glaciers of the summit crater.
