About
Kahuzi-Biega, west of Bukavu, is the only place to track Grauer's gorilla — the eastern lowland gorilla, the largest of all gorillas and a subspecies confined to eastern DR Congo. The park runs from bamboo highland forest under the two volcanoes that name it down into lowland rainforest, and tracking is done on foot with rangers.
