Freetown Peninsula
Forested hills dropping straight onto wide Atlantic beaches.
About
South of Freetown the peninsula road runs past a string of beaches — River No. 2, Bureh, Tokeh — where forested hills come down to white sand and fishing villages run the beach bars themselves. Behind them, the Western Area Peninsula forest holds chimpanzees at the Tacugama sanctuary, twenty minutes from the city centre.
