Banc d'Arguin
Where the Sahara meets the Atlantic, and millions of migrating birds stop to feed.
About
Banc d'Arguin is a national park of shallows, sandbanks and seagrass along a desert coast, and it is one of the most important wintering grounds for shorebirds on the Atlantic flyway — flamingo, pelican, waders in enormous numbers. Imraguen fishermen still fish these waters under sail, in a partnership with dolphins that drive mullet toward their nets.
